Hertha finally ended their dismal run of three consecutive division two defeats with a well-deserved 2-0 round 16 home win over pre-match table-toppers Erzgebirge Aue, in front of another mammoth crowd of 45,892 at the ice-cold Olympic stadium on Sunday afternoon. The capital city side are now level on points with Augsburg who we play this weekend, but behind them on goal difference.

Lassoga Loves the Limelight
Hertha BSC 2-0 VFL Bochum
Hertha's head coach Markus Babbel's decision to drop the tired Friend and hand a debut start to Lassoga, proved to be a masterstroke, as the young forward bagged himself a brace in a vital 3 points for the Hertha. The result also meant that ex coach Funkel, endured a miserable return to the Olympic Stadium.

4 Weeks till Munchen!
Hello all,
This is the first in a series of blog posts that will revolve around our trip to Munchen. The original five of Woodsy, Jamie, Kieran, Ollie and myself will be flying from Stansted, four weeks today and we all can't wait to watch the 'new Hertha', who have been revolutionised under Markus Babbel, combining attacking flair with a solid backline, culminating in Hertha's outstanding league position.

The futures bright for Hertha and for Schulz
When friday evening rolled around, few people expected to see the name of 17 year old Nico Schulz on the team sheet. German born Schulz has come through the ranks at Hertha and the future looks bright for the youngest player to ever pull on the Hertha BSC shirt. Although sometimes recognised as a defender, the young lad played right wing, and 'took his chance' according to Head Coach Markus Babbel.

Long Overdue Update!
After a huge lack of updates over the summer, the new season is finally underway. After 2 games played Hertha have recorded 2 wins and as I type are currently 2-0 up against Arminia Bielefeld. Hopefully this season will prove to be more enjoyable than the last.
With the new season underway we will try to keep the blog up to date with all things Hertha related. Planning for trip number 2 is well and truly underway with flights booked to Munich for the 3rd December where we will be visiting the Alianz Arena to see Hertha v 1860. Lets hope we manage to get tickets to sit with the crazy away support!

The End of the Road in Bundesliga...For Now
So we've barely even got to grips with following Hertha and before we know it the season is over, and we are getting used to the reality of being relegated from the Busndesliga. Ultimately it appears Hertha are paying the price for a very poor start to the season, despite fighting for the title the year before.

The First Visit
After arriving in Berlin we all decided to buy the Hertha Berlin home shirt as we could wear these for match day. However we didn't expect the rather surreal experience that followed, with what felt like everyone in Berlin either starring at us, mocking us, or the general football abuse/banter from the thousands of visiting Schalke fans.
